Portals shop is housed in a historic brick building on North Wells Street in Chicago's River North Gallery district. It features a wide selection of antique furnishings and decorative art including benches, chairs, chaises, stools, cabinets, breakfronts, consoles, easels, pedestals, screens, stands, tables, 19th century paintings and prints. Spread over two levels, the gallery has on its ground floor a few pieces of antique furniture, while the first floor is taken up by contemporary artisans and a collection of antiques. Every item displayed at Portals has been carefully selected by Nancy McIlvaine, the owner, who is an art consultant and interior designer.
