Established in 1992 by Bill Gordean, Villa Melrose Antiques was originally named as "Chic and Cheap", and located in an antique mall. In 1995, the owner changed the shop's name to Villa Melrose, and moved it to its present location in the western part of the Mid-City district of Los Angleles. The shop specializes in Italian, English and French antiques from the 17th to early 20th century. Its 7,000 square feet space houses sculptures, armoires, benches, buffets, cabinets, candlesticks, carpets, chairs, stools, chandeliers, lanterns, clocks, commodes, consoles, desks, urns, pots, sconces, lamps, mirrors, paintings, and many more.
