Rita Bucheit on North Wells Street in River North, Chicago is a specialized dealer in fine furniture and objet's d'art from Europe. The collection spans Empire, Biedermeier, Vienna Secession and Art Deco styles. Founder of the shop, eponymous Rita Bucheit, is originally from Vienna herself and has been sharing her passion for and knowledge of fine antiques with Chicago since 1987. The gallery also exhibits its pieces at some of the best-known art & antique shows in San Francisco, New York, Chicago, and Palm Beach. In 2005, The New York Times wrote of Rita Bucheit saying, “Among many gorgeous examples of early Viennese Modernism at Rita Bucheit is a hammered brass bowl by Josef Hoffmann that shines like the Holy Grail.”
