Jorge Welsh Oriental Porcelain and Works of Art is a spacious antique shop at Kensington Church Street. It features Oriental ceramics and objects d'art, dating back to the period of Portuguese expansion, as represented by the selected pieces from Africa, India, China and Japan. The company has its representative gallery in Lisbon and is also internationally recognized by specialists for its expertise in antiques. Jorge Welsh and Luísa Vinhais, the co-owners of the collection, are famous for their contributions to the academic world through their publishing company - “Jorge Welsh Books”. Annually, they publish a special catalogue, which contains the results of the year’s work in researches, examinations and collection of rare objects. Major private collections, institutions, and museums exhibit items from Jorge Welsh gallery, whose aim is to further the knowledge and understanding of Oriental art.
